The Great Indian Litterbug

India....the land of unity in diversity. But for the foreigners, its the land of snake charmers, mosquitoes and garbage. This thought gave birth to a famous joke: What is the difference between Indians and Americans? Simple. Americans can kiss but not piss in public. While Indians don't kiss but can always piss in public! Disgusting but so true! I have always been so irked by the random throwing of garbage here and there. So when The Times of India came up with this awesome idea of The Great Indian Litterbug , I found it an interesting portal to vent out my rage and disgust for all the litterbugs out there! There was a place full of natural resources and wealth The Portugese decided to explore that place They entered through Goa and discovered India To find it overflowing with spices, wealth and kings fighting amongst each other. To take advantage of the internal disputes the British set up their company here East India company as it was known Started exploiting our peop

My Honda City with quikr nxt

I had started driving in my Dad's Maruti. I believe that almost 90% of middle class Indian males have done that. After I became a doctor and started earning, it was time to buy my own. With all the money that I saved, I managed to afford an i10. Now that its been 5 years and I am a more successful doctor, I need to upgrade my car. I have loved Honda City ever since it was launched. Somehow it has always been out of my budget. But this time I am going to fulfill my dream by buying a pre owned car. Earlier I used to be intimidated with second hand items but  Quikr Nxt has made everything simple now. With  Quikr Nxt , buying a big thing like car has become a breeze!! 1. Happy Me!

Image
Some may say that happiness is overrated. But for me happiness is life. I am a happy go lucky person. Except for a few moments, I never waste my time in dejection. I believe that resenting is punishing yourself. The moment I come across something very adverse, I try to get out of that phase as soon as possible. And don't get me wrong...even the tiniest of things make me happy! Things that make me happy have changed over the course of years. What delighted me during childhood does not uplift me now. Or if it does, not to that extent! But there are a few things that still delight me..even today! Here are a few things that make me happy starting from childhood. During my early years I loved flying kites. I love that even now; only thing is that I don't have the time or opportunity to do so. I loved taking a dip in the holy Ganges river. My hometown being Varanasi, the river flows at a stone's throw`distance. I loved chasing away calves and the chirping of birds made me h

My Happy Baby with Pampers Baby Dry Pants

The moment a baby is born, a mother is also born. Because before the birth of a child, the woman was not a mother! In my case I would say the father in me was born 11 months ago! Gosh its eleven months already! It seems like she came into our lives just a while ago. But as a father I would say that I have grown a lot during these past 11 months. And I have learnt a lot from my mistakes as well as from sites like Reward Me . Right from the beginning my infant has been a troubled sleeper. She is very naughty and has been driving me and my wife crazy right from the beginning. But the amount of joy which she gives us is unmatched. With every passing day her habit changes and we learn new things about her. But one thing is very predictable about babies..you can never predict what is going to happen next! During the initial three months, she was a constant screamer. She used to be calm only in her mother's or my lap. Strangely she has a definite taste for music right from the beginn

Can't wait for Zenfone2!!

Image
Well I had my share of fair experience of the Asus Zenfone series. I have loved the Zenfone 5. Now with the Asus Zenfone2 being launched, I can't wait to try my hands on it! Here is why I feel this phone is going to redefine the smartphone experience! I need a damn good camera in my smartphone. Being a blogger, I need to capture pictorial evidence time and again. Its not always feasible to carry my camera all he time hence my phone has to have a smart camera. The zenfone2 promises to give excellent pictures. Even if its not for my hobby blogging, I need to take pictures of the X ray films and MRI scans. For that I need an excellent camera. Its not practical to carry a camera everyday to the hospital but I did it nonetheless. With the Zenfone 2, I can leave my camera at home and click pictures with my Zenfone 2 thanks to the Pixel master technology. The Zenfone2 is equipped with a 13 megapixel camera with zero shutter lag. Its pixel master technology ensures that we have crisp

My love

Its been five years that I first met my wife! Gosh! Time really flies! The way we met was pretty dramatic. But the moment but I met her I knew she was the one. I don't know what it was but I was pretty sure that I wanted her to be the mother of my future children. It was love at first sight. Our first meet was as a senior junior. The intern under me was her friend and that's how I met her. After our meet we exchanged numbers. I was sure that she did not have the least idea that her friend's sir was head over heels for her. We started chatting on phone after that. The more I talked to her, the more I became sure that I wanted her. But there were obvious problems. I came from a conservative Brahmin family of Uttar Pradesh. She was a feisty Bengali. Me a pure vegetarian while she was a 'Bengali' type of non vegetarian! I was an orthopedic surgeon while she was a homeopathic intern. Last but not the least, we had an age gap of six years. Now what? Even if she said

Varanasi boat school

I am a product of Varanasi. Its my hometown and I have spent 16 years of my life there. The foundation of my education lies deeply in the culture of this wonderful city. The land of Lord Shiva, the land of the holy Ganges, the land of Banaras Hindu University and the land of intellectuals and artists, it has been correctly named the cultural capital of India. With so much to boast, it is also the oldest living city of India. Unfortunately the current youth is in a not so promising situation. Illiteracy is rampant in India. I hate to state it but the truth is that India has the largest population of illiterate adults in the world with 287 million i.e 37% of the global population. Is not that alarming? What is the reason and what are the consequences? Well its like a vicious cycle. Too much population is contributing to illiteracy and illiteracy in turn is contributing to increase in population. A politician had once remarked that if we provide televisions in every village, population
