Come Alive in Melbourne

Image
I am a 33 year old doctor, an orthopedic surgeon to be precise. My hectic job profile does not mean that I am not entitled to have fun. I am a very lively person at heart and I live each day as if there is no tomorrow. Maybe that's why I fell in love with Melbourne, the world's most livable city right from my childhood. I have been watching cricket since the age of 10 years. By watching I mean following and worshiping. My enthusiasm for cricket made me take up this sport professionally along with studies. I was in the under 19 cricket team of Uttar Pradesh during my MBBS years!! Well, love for cricket undoubtedly takes people to Melbourne, Australia and that's how I fell in love with this city for the first time at the age of ten years!! When Indiblogger came up with this contest along with  Tourism Victoria , my joy knew no bounds! Here's why I love this city and hence it would be a dream come true to visit Melbourne! Melbourne is the capital of V

The power of truth

I was always naughty as a kid. Not that I am not now; ask my wife and she would have myriads of anecdotes to affirm this. My mother always covered for my mischiefs as any typical mother would. However there was one incident which even shook her. Being naughty did not mean that I was not sincere at school. It was not much of an option really. My elder sister who was very meritorious and  in the same school ensured that I never did something that would mar her reputation. She was three years senior to me and I finally got to spread my wings in tenth class when she left for medical college. My school, St John's was a premier school in Varanasi. I used to stay in Ramnagar which was just across the ganges. Its a much smaller district than Varanasi. My childhood was pretty tough. I used to walk to the ghat in Ramnagar. From there a ferry used to take me across the river Ganges to Varanasi. Again from there I had to walk to my school. As I grew up I became more serious a

The blooming of a flower

After years of holy matrimony, a stork finally visits the couple. They have been trying to conceive for 10 long years. Call it medical breakthrough or God's blessing, the wife finally got pregnant. After nine months of nurture they were blessed with a little angel. We as kids , realize very less how precious we are to our parents. Materially we do. When it comes to bullying them to get a tab or a playstation, we can easily go on a hunger strike because we know that our parents cannot bear to see us hungry. If our parents can sacrifice so much for us then why can't we fulfil their meagre expectations? With dating taking a new turn in new age India, pre marital sex is no longer a taboo. But according to me its a complete No No! Call me conservative or outdated, I would always condemn pre marital sex. Some say that only smart dudes and sassy girls are capable of having glamorous relationships and hence pre marital sex. And if you want a virgin partner, you either have to mar

Teddy Travelogues

I love traveling. This may come as a cliche but I AM AN ardent traveler. And I had started travelling since the age of 2 and a half years. Recently I came across Teddy Travelogues and went down the memory lane. I have documented my travel diaries since I was a kid and this is such a brilliant idea of Club Mahindra! My daughter is nine months old. I love traveling with my wife but now that we have a family, we plan to conquer the world together! My daughter had her first stint with traveling a couple of months ago when we went for a short break in Purvanchal during the Diwali holidays. Our base was at Varanasi and from there we traveled to Rajdari Devdari falls, Vindhyachal and nearby places. This was our first trip together and I enjoyed every bit of it! Our first concern was the 16 hour long train journey from Delhi to Varanasi. My daughter being very naughty and restless made our 16 hours seem like a week. Later as we deboarded the train our lives became easier as we traveled a

HOW TO PLAN YOUR HOLIDAY

Image
PANDANON ISLAND... a click from paradise My wife had a verbal pact with me that we will be going to at least two exotic destinations in a year. Our first was Mauritius, followed by Malaysia, Dubai, Singapore, Thailand and very recently, Philippines.   Every trip gave me lots of experience and confidence to plan my future vacations.  Here I share with you my method of holiday planning. This might help other tourists; at the same time your expert comments can help me to improve myself.. STEP 1 : Work out your budget                                               For some, travelling is passion, for some its a necessity. But for most of us its a way to relax ourselves. Its very important to know the range that your pocket permits you. STEP 2 : Make a wish list :                                               Since childhood we dream of visiting several places. Recollect all those dreams. Believe me you would be going to fulfill them sooner or later, if not today. Define you
